Sub Groups:  About  Features  Costs  Expansion

OIOpublisher is not your average web project. We strive for constant development and innovation in what we do. Our aim is to connect bloggers with their target audience, whether that be readers, advertisers, or other bloggers, in practical and effective ways.

Taking elements from direct sales, ad networks, and social networking, we provide a completely unique package; more comprehensive and ambitious than any other blogger-orientated project on the internet today.

The 3 pillars driving OIOpublisher forward are: content generation, traffic driving, and direct monetisation.

History:

The roots of the project go back to July 2007, and revolved around the need for a flexible, yet easy to use blog ad sales system for Wordpress, named OIOpublisher Direct. Instead of sharing sales commission with 3rd party sites, why not let the blogger connect directly with interested advertisers.

Along side the plugin, there quickly developed a Marketplace, as it was known that there were many blogs that could not always attract the needed interest themselves. It was this realisation that led to the construction of an API, to benefit blogs by providing a link to a central source, as well as an important framework for more features later on.

A hosted version of OIOpublisher Direct was also constructed, in order to help reach a wider audience. Although never considered a true replacement for the original, it provided a way for any blogger to make a direct sale, and was even hooked up to some of the up and coming "API services".

Whilst the primary focus of OIOpublisher Direct has been ad sales, it was realised that it could be developed further, from mere ad sales, into a complete monetisation tool. Instead of just focusing on direct sales, why not look at the bigger picture, involving aiding bloggers in aspects such as networking, and content and traffic generation.
