Installation

This section covers both installation and upgrading of the Wordpress platform. At this time, only core file new releases trigger the plugin notification update script. Updates to individual modules must still be checked manually.

Installing:

1.) Login to your OIOpublisher Account, and click on the Download link. Select the features you'd like to make use of (if in doubt, use the default settings) and press the download button. You will then be able to download the plugin to your hard drive.

2.) Before continuing, it is suggested that you back up your database!

3.) Unzip the download, and then upload the 'oiopub-direct' folder to your Wordpress plugins directory, via FTP. The plugins directory path can be found at: wp-content/plugins. At this stage, you can also change the name of the 'oiopub-direct' folder to something else, to help keep your files anonymous.

4.) Once uploaded, login to your blog's admin area, and click on the 'Plugins' menu option. You should now see the 'OIOpublisher Direct' plugin in the plugin list. Click the activate link to proceed.

5.) Activating the plugin will automatically install everything required to use it. You will then automatically be redirected to the settings page, where you can configure all the purchase settings needed to get started.

Once installed, please see the notes on Configuration to help get you stared.

Upgrading:

1.) Login to your OIOpublisher Account, and click on the Downloadlink. Select the features you'd like to make use of (if in doubt, usethe default settings) and press the download button. You should include all the modules you want to use, regardless of whether they have been updated individually or not. You will then beable to download the updated plugin to your hard drive.

2.) Before continuing, it is suggested that you back up your database!

3.) Unzip the download, and if necessary, change the name of the 'oiopub-direct' folder to the name you have been using previously. Then open up your Wordpress plugins directory, via FTP, and search for the older version of the plugin. Rename that folder to something different (such as oiopub-direct-old) and then upload the new plugin version to the 'plugins' directory.

4.) If you have made any custom language changes, you will need to copy the lang/custom.php file from the old plugin folder, to the new one. Any other file customisations will need to be made by hand again (so it is suggested you keep a separate record of any changes you make!).

5.) When you refresh your blog again, any database upgrades required will be made automatically. If you see any errors show up, you can always contact us via email, or the Forum, to get the issue resolved.
